Hi, I’m Brian Westerlind — a mindfulness teacher and lifelong creator.
I’ve been practicing mindfulness and meditation for over ten years. Over time, what started as a way to relieve anxiety and depression became an integrated life practice and a new way of being. With mindfulness, I’ve been able to cultivate a sense of groundedness, balance, and a deeper connection to myself and others. It’s a simple but profound practice that I feel called to share.
Along with mindfulness, creativity is another component for a rich, connected life. Creativity has been with me since day one. I wrote my first “novel” in kindergarten and have been shepherding my creative impulse ever since—through poetry, collage, weird hybrid writing, playing the saxophone, and even perfume-making.
What I’ve learned along the way is this: mindfulness and creativity are deeply connected. Mindfulness helps us quiet the noise, hear ourselves more clearly, and stay present through the ups and downs of the creative process. It helps us capture ideas before they slip away and connect to what we really need to express.
